Great Knoutberry Hill is a Hewitt, 673m high, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and also counts as a Nuttall, Marilyn and HuMP. The Hewitts are hills in England, Wales and Ireland over 2,000 feet, with at least 30 metres of prominence.

Dent is the nearest station, 1.5 mi (about 2 to 2.5 mi on foot), so the summit is within walking distance of the train. From Dent it's about 1 to 1.5 hours to the summit, 1 in 8 on average. Garsdale is next, 2.9 mi (about 4 to 4.5 mi on foot), and 4 stations are within 10 miles in all. Wold Fell is the only other listed hill within 2 miles. The Pennine Bridleway National Trail passes 0.5 mi away.

Great Knoutberry Hill, also commonly known as Widdale Fell, is a mountain located near Dent at the heads of Ribblesdale, Dentdale and Wensleydale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and within the boundaries of the historic county of Yorkshire. In fact, the borders between the West Riding and North Riding of Yorkshire meet at the summit, and the border between the modern administrative counties of Cumbria and North Yorkshire also runs over the fell. At a height of 2,205 feet (672 m) above sea level it is the 16th-highest fell in the Yorkshire Dales, with Rogan's Seat being exactly the same height.
