Walton Hill

316mM Marilyn

Walton Hill is a Marilyn, 316m high, and also counts as a HuMP. The Marilyns are hills anywhere in Britain and Ireland with at least 150 metres of prominence, whatever their height.

Hagley is the nearest station, 2.6 mi (about 3.5 to 4 mi on foot), so the summit is within walking distance of the train. From Hagley it's about 1.5 hours to the summit, 1 in 16 on average. Stourbridge Junction is next, 3.0 mi (about 4 to 4.5 mi on foot), and 40 stations are within 10 miles in all.

At 316 metres (1,037 ft) above sea level, Walton Hill is the highest point in the range of hills in northern Worcestershire known as the Clent Hills. It is the highest point for 21 miles (34 km) in all directions, and as such commands an excellent panorama. Its neighbours include Clent Hill, Wychbury Hill, Calcot Hill, and Romsley Hill.
